Comparison

jeerc and Snyk compared

Both scan your repositories outside the pipeline. They differ in how plans are priced and in how you buy a pentest. Statements about Snyk link Snyk's own pages and are dated.

What both do

  • Both connect to your Git host and re-test repositories on a schedule, not only when a pipeline runs. (Snyk docs: recurring tests, as of 2026-10)
  • Both scan source code, open-source dependencies and infrastructure as code, and both have a free plan. (Snyk plans, as of 2026-10)

Where they differ

jeercSnyk
How plans are pricedFlat price per plan. Every plan, Free included, has unlimited seats and repositories.Team is a flat monthly plan for up to 10 developers; Enterprise is billed in credits per active contributor. (Snyk plans, as of 2026-10)
Pentests$99 for one pentest with no subscription, or 4 a month included in Team ($349 a month).AI pentesting is part of the Enterprise subscription and is paid for in credits. (Snyk plans, as of 2026-10)
Git hostsGitHub only for now, including GitHub Enterprise Server.GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and Azure Repos. (Snyk docs: SCM integrations, as of 2026-10)

When Snyk is the better choice

  • Your code lives on GitLab, Bitbucket or Azure Repos. jeerc connects to GitHub only.
  • You need container image scanning, which jeerc does not do. (Snyk plans, as of 2026-10)
  • You want API and web application testing (DAST) bought with the rest of an enterprise platform. (Snyk plans, as of 2026-10)

When jeerc fits

  • You want a price that does not grow with the number of developers.
  • You want a pentest of one app without an enterprise contract: one costs $99.
  • You want an alert when a repository goes 7 days without a scan.
